Dedicated Cargo Flight: A New Era in Air Freight
In a landmark move, Bangladesh launched its first dedicated cargo flight from Sylhet to Spain, carrying 60 tonnes of readymade garments. This milestone not only enhances regional connectivity but also supports key export sectors, particularly garments and perishables, which contribute 11–13% to GDP.

Bangladesh’s logistics sector is expanding rapidly, fueled by booming e-commerce. With 20–25% annual growth, the surge is driven by rising internet penetration, mobile payments, and a growing middle class, making it one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing e-commerce markets.
At the same time, shifting economic and geopolitical dynamics are reshaping regional trade. Bangladesh is well-positioned to capitalise on this moment, thanks to its strategic location and growing infrastructure. But continued investment and adaptability will be key to maintaining momentum.

With the logistics market projected to reach US$84.55 billion by 2029, the sector is on a clear growth trajectory.
