In today’s health-conscious world, dry fruits have transitioned from being a luxury to a daily essential. And there are food and cosmetics industries emerging with fruits as product ingredients. From morning smoothies to our night creams, dry fruits are now an integral part of daily life. Countries such as the USA, China, Germany, Australia, and Kuwait are witnessing a soaring demand for premium dry fruits. This shift presents a golden opportunity for India, a nation already well-positioned to dominate the global dry fruits market with its regional production, seamless logistics, and strategic networking.
Why India? – The Power of Regional Specialties
India exported $28.1 million worth of dry fruits in 2023, securing its place as one of the leading exporters in the world. However, with abundant resources, strategic trade policies, and a growing network of global buyers, we are ready to scale up and claim a higher rank in global exports.
India’s diverse climatic conditions enable the cultivation of a rich variety of dry fruits, from the finest walnuts of Jammu & Kashmir to premium dates from Rajasthan. This abundant resource meets growing global demand, strengthening India’s export potential. Much like its success in fruit and vegetable exports, India is steadily emerging as a major player in the global dry fruit market.
Seamless logistics
Considering well-established air cargo infrastructure ensuring quality preservation, Indian dry fruits can efficiently reach international markets. Having streamlined export routes and robust industry expertise, Indian businesses can seamlessly expand their presence globally. Efficient packaging, smart logistics, and valuable trade insights make India a key player in meeting global demand.
Fast-Tracking Global Expansion
To enhance networking and promote business expansion, MEWA 2025 was held in Mumbai from February 11-14, organised by the Nuts & Dry Fruits Council of India (NDFC). This pioneering event, India’s first-ever global nuts and dry fruits trade show, attracted participants and exhibitors from more than 50 countries. The event featured panel discussions, trade shows, and networking sessions, all aimed at redefining standards and fostering collaborative growth in the industry.
Our vice president Sultan Basha and Trade head Gurunathan attended MEWA 2025, joining to be a part of this vision of increasing Indian exports in dry fruits.
Sultan Basha, shared, “This conclave is a game-changer, opening doors to strategic collaborations and growth in global trade.” Trade Head, Gurunathan, added, “Engaging in these discussions helped us align our strategies with the evolving market landscape, reinforcing our commitment to global trade excellence.”
Strong networks and advanced logistics ensure that Indian dry fruits reach consumers worldwide without compromise. The time to tap into the international market is now.
